The 100BASE-T1 Media Converter USB from Technica Engineering is a unique solution to expand your PC/Laptop with an added network interface card, through the in-built USB-LAN chip. This MediaConverter enables a direct interaction with your 100BASE-T1 device (a.k.a. BroadR-Reach ™, with 100 MBit/s full-duplex and 1x Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable).

With its sleek design, the 100BASE-T1 MediaConverter USB is a space- and cost-efficient solution for a one point-to-point bi-directional physical layer conversion between automotive Ethernet 100BASE-T1 and USB LAN. An ideal solution for use cases where power supply distribution is crucial since with this device no external power supply is needed, as it is powered by the same USB interface. Its smaller dimensions and lighter weight make it portable and easy to install in test racks. The metal housing makes it robust with IP20 protection.

The device is coupled with drivers for Windows (32- and 64-bit) and Linux operating systems, for ease of use. This enables the user for easy configuration of the functionalities of the device, such as operation in master or slave mode, choice of multiple converters, among others. With the status LED, the operation of the device is transparent and aids the tester to detect Link up and data transmission. The device does the conversion on the Physical Layer hence no extra latency is caused and data transmission is reliable.

It comes with Broadcom BCM89811 PHY, MQS connector and micro USB interface. No extra hardware is needed to use the device with a PC or Laptop. The device can be coupled with any hardware or software tool that runs on standard USB LAN.
